If you’re one of those people who loves to clean out closets and drawers to make room for the things Santa leaves under the tree, the Creation Care January Challenge will be right up your alley! Each week we’ll highlight a different way to care for God’s world through those clothes hanging in our closets. We’ll start with a clothing drive for Shalom and New Hope, and in following weeks, talk about non-profit thrift stores, what to do with worn, torn, stained clothes (don’t toss in the trash!), where to donate those “nice” clothes, and how fast fashion is affecting our planet.
January Closet Clean Out-Clothing Drive for Shalom & New Hope
All through January we’ll be collecting those warm shirts, sweatshirts, pants, jeans, coats, hats, gloves, sturdy shoes, boots, that you no longer need. Don’t worry if there are small stains, as long as clothes are wearable. Even mismatched gloves, mittens are welcome! Look for the Drop Off Boxes in the narthex.
