Creation Care Corner- July Challenge of the Month
July’s challenge is to visit a Farmers’ Market. We are planning several outings to local markets in July and would love for you to join us!
Did you know that conventionally sourced produce travels about 27 times farther than locally or regionally sourced produce? Farmers Markets help preserve our local farms, help support our local economy and increase access to healthy food for all members of our community, while supporting sustainability. Let’s Meet at the Market! We invite you to join us at the following markets for a field trip:
- Spokane Farmers’ Market – Saturday, July 22 (Carpoolers, meet Peggy at church @ 9:00 am) https://www.spokanefarmersmarket.org/
Coeur d’Alene Park: Browne’s Addition at the corner of 4th and Chestnut - Fairwood Farmers Market – Tuesday, July 25 (Carpoolers, meet Fleeta at church@ 3:00 pm) http://www.fairwoodfarmersmarket.org/
319 W Hastings, Spokane, WA 99218
Please visit the Creation Care table in the Living Room (narthex) for more info on shopping locally and to sign up for these outings, including if you would like to carpool for ease and reduction of our carbon footprint.
